Set on a small farm in Chatsworth, Ontario, Stonehill Sheep is the home of a purebred flock of Suffolk Sheep. Our sheep are the product of lifelong breeding work by Glen and Judy Porteous, with over a decade of partnership with Paul Dick and Tina Harrington.

News from the Farm

  • WE WERE DELIGHTED WITH THE RESULTS OF THE ALL CANADA CLASSIC HELD IN BRANDON THIS JULY! OUR FALL LAMBS TOOK CHAMPION EWE AND CHAMPION RAM AWARDS. OUR SPRING LAMBS TOOK BOTH EWE AND RAM RESERVE CHAMPION,AWARDS. WE WERE ALSO AWARDED THE GENOVIS GRAND CHAMPION EWE AND RAM AWARDS FOR TERMINAL SIRE BREEDS. THESE RESULTS WERE ALL THE MORE,REMARKABLE FOR US CONSIDERING THEY WERE UP AGAINST APPROXIMATELY 90 SUFFOLK FROM ALL ACROSS CANADA.

  • We are now using three stud rams, Arkell Valley 90G (tattoo AVS 90G), STONEHILL 2L (tattoo SHF2L) and Stonehill 10M (tattoo SHF 10M), for breeding this. We are expecting outstanding results with these rams.

Two years ago we were delighted to learn that STONEHILL SHEEP was selected for the Canadian 2022 Genovis Recognition Award for Terminal Breeds. This year Stonehill fall lambs were selected as the Champion Suffolk Ram and Ewe at the CSBA All Canada Classic.
